Electrical Duct – Durban City
In what was a very technical job, Rolkon installed an electrical duct into the basement of a building in Dr Pixley Kaseme Street in the Durban City Centre.
Despite all the building rubble in the confined space on the building, the team managed to pilot the drill from the ground floor into the basement, weld the 160mm diameter pipe and pull in the new sleeve.
Thanks to skilled planning, the calm demeanor of our driller, and the technique that is Horizontal Directional Drilling, this project demonstrated Rolkon’s ability to deliver – no matter the site.
Traffic Signals – Midway Mall, Newlands
The Rolkon team spent the better part of this drill pounding through rock-hard surface to find soil conditions conducive to pulling ducts for the traffic signals outside Midway Mall in Newlands.
This 75m long drill involved pulling 2 x 110mm ducts to ensure the effective function of the new traffic signals and was the first Horizontal Directional Drilling project employed by the eThekweni Transport Authority (ETA).
