Challenging Project Completed

Challenging Project Completed Successfully in Mayor’s Walk, Pietermaritzburg, KZN.

Over the course of a demanding three-week project in May this year, the Rolkon team installed 128m of electrical sleeves for Gubhuza Trading, as part of Msunduzi Municipality’s infrastructure implementation at Mayor’s Walk, Pietermaritzburg. This project involved the use of Horizontal Directional Drilling and Pullback techniques, utilizing the advanced Vermeer D20 drill rig to install the sleeves for a new residential development.

The team faced significant challenges due to the tough soil conditions, having to drill through 76m of solid rock across seven drill points! Despite these obstacles, the skilled Rolkon team, comprising Martin Jordaan, Hendrik Nortje, Solly Manaso, Lucky Khumalo, Sandile Mbedu, Nkosinathi Khanyile, Frank Mchunu, Robert Mazibuko, and Blessing Dimba, persevered.

The electrical sleeves, supplied in sections, were expertly welded together on-site by our trusted partner, Rhotech. Thanks to the dedication and expertise of both the Rolkon and Rhotech teams, the project was successfully completed, showcasing our commitment to overcoming challenges and delivering quality results.
