In a recent project for construction company Base Major, Rolkon’s job was to drill to supply power to a local mall.
Positioned at the M13 highway in KZN near the King Cetswayo Bridge the job called for 2 drills, the first being 31 metres through which 3 x 160mm HDPE pipes of 32 metres were pulled. The second drill was 33 meters through which another 3 x 160mm HDPE pipes were pulled, this time of 36 metres. This hard rock on both drill sites made for some tough conditions and focused drilling, but the team powered through and completed the drills at the level expected by the client.
